King Bhumibol Adulyadej, The World s Longest Monarch And...

King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as Rama IX, was the world s longest-reigning monarch and the beloved King of Thailand. He was the King who was loved by his people whether they are Buddhist, Christian, or Muslim, and his willingness to sacrifices his wellness for his people was well known. So, what make him the greatest King of Thailand? For over six decades, he worked very hard to help his people to live a sustained life by living by the philosophy of the Self-Sufficient Economy which emphasizes principles of living a balanced and sustainable life. He also was an innovator who proposed new agricultural techniques such as the rain making project and the Chaipattana Aerator. Most importantly, he introduced true democracy to Thailand. On June 9,1946, at the age of eighteen, Prince Bhumibol became King Rama IX. He reigned Thailand for 70 years, and he was known as the world s longest monarch (Thailand s King Bhumibol). Thai people called him Lord of the Land or Lord Upon their Head, which means he was regarded as semi-divine, a sign that he was loved and very respected by Thai people. He had done a lot of good for people in Thailand. The King introduced many methods to help improve lives in the country. More than 3,000 royal innovations initiated by His Majesty the King in the areas of water and forest management, agriculture, and innovation are highly acclaimed by many international organizations worldwide.
